4 days later...

Wow.
Week one Summer Institute
done and gone.
Such an intense,
compelling experience.
Me.
Demo lesson. Day 2.
First time (for everything)
I have ever presented as a teacher
to other
teachers (people like me)
I hit it out of the park
Now,
How to perfect my swing?

Interacting with others
Full of
Passion
Dedication
to writing,
Learning
Their STUDENTS
A waterfall of
Encouragement////acknowledgement

What I mean by that IS
I don't feel alone anymore.

I have many wonderful colleagues
at my school.
I promise.
But.
Not many of them have the same fire and excitement
that I do.

Everyone
in that tiny conference room
at George Mason does.

Maggie,

I love the poetry, Free Verse, but I was a bit disappointed that it was not one of your patented Haikus. As I look at it closer, I understand how the poetic format of Free Verse [an oxymoron for sure!] connects to your theme of feeling a bit liberated and free. Good choice! I, Ron Weasley, will never question your "Hermione Granger" thinking.

SPOT ON! I so connected with this line:"What I mean by that IS I don't feel alone anymore." It is so freeing to be accepted by others in that that nearly claustrophobic conference room #447. *COUGH! NVWP, HINT! HINT! *COUGH!

Please enjoy the beach and, as you are lounging under the radiant sun, take it all in because you will need it for my lesson on Monday.

Take care!
